Theme Concept of “THE 29th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2012”
Meet Tomorrow's Cars Today

The 4 attributes of future cars that users look for are convenience, economy, safety and eco-friendliness.

Even performance enhancement is subject to the constraint that it cannot be accomplished at the expense of any of these attributes.

This may appear easy but in reality the makers have to deploy all their resources and knowhow to the utmost over a lengthy period of time in order to develop and come up with an automotive technology that satisfies such simple sounding demand.

Examples of interesting modern automotive technologies include communication network between drivers and their environs such as navigation system that functions in tandem with traffic information centre; system for finding parking spaces or points of interest; head-up-display of speed, fuel consumption, etc. on the windscreen so that drivers can read them without taking their eyes off the road.

Car movement control system that increases/reduces speed and changes direction through processing data from the driver’s brain and eyes as well as the traffic environment including traffic lights, other vehicles and obstacles.

Furthermore, both preventive and corrective safety systems now incorporate so many new technologies as typified below.

- Low-speed collision prevention system that will automatically brake the car when it is apparent that the car is going to collide with an obstacle at a speed of not more than 30 km/h.

- Speed control, automatic cueing and vehicle following distance warning system that will automatically adjust speed to match up with the car in front and also reduce speed when another car cuts in.

- A centre airbag between the front seats to protect the driver and front passenger in a side-impact collision which is a major cause of death.

As for propelling power, energy-efficient and pollution-free technologies like electricity and fuel cells have been well developed to a satisfactory level.

The point is that all makers cannot wait to incorporate these cutting-edge technologies into their vehicles made for users today as evidenced by the fact that new vehicles of all brands and models are furnished with convenience, economy, safety and eco-friendliness.

It is thus no exaggeration to say that vehicles that come onto the market from now on will be ‘future’ innovations that are available today which not only meet users’ demand but also return wholesomeness to the planet that has been polluted by motor vehicles for so long.

And as a major vehicle production base of the world, Thailand is certain to catch sight of these hi-tech vehicles on its roads.

For this reason, we intend to hold “THE 29th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2012” under the concept of “Meet Tomorrow’s Cars Today” in order to encourage manufacturers to display cars loaded with ultra modern technologies and innovations for the beholders to appreciate that...

In the world of cars, the future is no longer something one has to wait for.

  • NISSAN Esflow

Though employing the same technology as the Nissan LEAF – the world's first mass produced family electric car – the Esflow concept is a RWD 2-seater electric sports coupé, with truly sporty performance while retaining eco-friendliness. Generous glass area from the wrap-around windscreen and extended side windows back to the rear pillars gives the car a transparent look as well as good forward visibility. The proportions and lines of the new Esflow, especially its long nose, apparently share much DNA with the old Fairlady Z classic. The chassis is made from lightweight aluminium. Twin electric motors, mounted above the axis of the rear wheels in a mid-ship position, independently control the rear left and right wheels and produce enough torque for the Esflow to scramble from 0 to 100 kph in under 5 seconds.

  • TATA Megapixel

Developed by Tata design centres in India, the UK and Italy, the Megapixel concept is a small 4-seater electric city car for megacity, with onboard petrol engine generator to recharge lithium ion phosphate battery on the move, enabling a range of up to 900 km with a single tank of fuel. Hence the moniker “REEV” (Range Extended Electric Vehicle). CO2 emissions are just 22 g/km and fuel economy is a staggering 100 km/litre under a combined driving mode. The integrated lamp and grille sweep back over the front wheel arches to render a dynamic front end. Entry/exit is easy thanks to its double-sliding door system and B-pillar-less design. The car’s electric drive has four independent electric motors, one at each wheel. When parking, the motors drive the wheels in opposite directions, while the front wheels can be turned nearly at right angles, enabling a remarkable 2.8 metre turning radius.

  • MAZDA Shinari

The Shinari is a 4-door sports concept sedan in the style of a coupé, developed under a concept called “Kodo” or the soul of motion – the poised grace of animals and humans about to attack and suddenly release pent-up energy. The 4 bulging wheel arches express muscle and brawn. The headlamps with no outer lens suggest the eyes of a wild animal about to pounce. The large and slightly protruding radiator grill together with the bulbous bonnet makes for a sporty and aggressive look in 3-D, further augmented by bumper and front wing styling. The interior likewise accentuates a predilection for sportiness with 4 bucket seats for comfort in journey and a cockpit-like layout of instruments, controls and seating for the driver.

  • HYUNDAI HED-8

HED-8 or i-oniq is the latest hybrid car concept from Hyundai, designed by the European Research and Development Centre of Hyundai in Germany, first shown at the Geneva Motor Show this year and will be first unveiled in ASEAN at the Motor Expo 2012. HED-8 was designed under its brand concept of “Modern Premium”. It is a compact (C-segment) modern luxury 4-seater sports coupé that focuses on aerodynamics with “penthouse roof”. It features LED headlights and large sports doors that swing open upwards. Its 1.0-litre three-cylinder gasoline engine produces a maximum power of 61 bhp (45 kW) plus 109 hp (80 kW) from a lithium-ion electric motor. Used as a hybrid car of gasoline and electricity, the HED-8 has a range of 700 km and CO2 emissions of only 45 g/km, while if used only electricity the range is a respectable 120 km. Top speed of the hybrid concept is 145 kph.

Though widely accepted that a car is a necessity in our daily life, it is not so easy to own a car. Especially for those of us who want to get their value for money in obtaining a car that is efficient, provides the utilities that he desires, at a fair price.

The main obstacle to the buyer is that he cannot compare the information of all cars, be it technical, service, price, hire purchase conditions - within the limited time available. At the same time, the manufacturer and distributor are facing a similar problem of not being able to present their products and service as well as information and data to the tremendous number of potential customers.

At this juncture between demand and supply, Inter-Media Consultant Co., Ltd. steps in to take the catalyst role by organizing the Thailand International Motor Expo to facilitate not only the selling of cars , motorcycles , commercial vehicles , and ancillary equipment but also to create a good relationship and understanding among all players concerned-whether between makers and consumers , the private sector and the Government , sales agents and their corresponding overseas manufacturers , or between the auto circle and others in the country.

It can be said that Thailand International Motor Expo has been playing a crucial role in the development of the Thai automotive industry throughout the past two decades, and we shall continue to play this important role right through the new decade and century.

Every time we organized a "Thailand International Motor Expo" what we never neglected to take care of, apart from making sure the Exposition was as near perfect as possible, was the satisfaction of participants and visitors. With regard to visitors , we would make an opinion survey every year by means of questionnaire and use the feedback opinions to improve our show in subsequent years.

From such questionnaires we learn that the first thing the majority of visitors want is the convenience of the exposition venue , both exhibition area and parking area.In addition, the traffic in the vicinity should flow fairly freely, which is in accordance with the needs of the exhibitors and also of ourselves, who ultimately have to be responsible for the maximum satisfaction of all parties.

And it is a wonderful opportunity that the 13th Asian Games or Bangkok Games held at the end of 1998 has brought about many modern and magnificent sports stadiums in the suburb of the Bangkok Metropolis, served by the new expressway and mass transit that can convey people from the city centre right up there so fast and so conveniently, as already proven during the period of the Games.

Thus we did not hesitate to choose IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center,Muang Thong Thani, Chaeng Wattana Road as the new venue for holding the "Thailand International Motor Expo", with its potential reaching well beyond being a mere "exhibition center" to include every aspect of a "city", whether in terms of spacious parking areas, clearly divided between visitors' and exhibitors', a reliable security system, food courts of various kinds and price brackets, ATM machines, multiple traffic route linkages, conveniently accessible by both private and public mass transport, also facilitating the concurrent miscellaneous recreational activities that we shall be arranging.

Therefore the "Thailand International Motor Expo" at the new IMPACT Challenger, Muang Thong Thani is ready to welcome everyone in the family, regardless of sex or age, to benefit something from the outing, which is our proven formula of success - both for the exhibitors and ourselves.

For participating companies, we know the values of time, planning, investment and economy. Our guideline for action is based on a single standard which is not changeable, concise in practice, and facilitates long-term planning, time-saving and expense-economising. Construction and decorative materials can be so designed as to be reused again and again with only minor modifications. Discipline and adherence to well established rules, we believe, are essential factors that add value to the work, create respectable society and build a culture that is accepted internationally.

We are ever proud of the fact that we have played a role in helping nurture a decent civilisation in our society.

Inter-Media Consultant Co., Ltd., with its team of staff under the one and only original administrator, is fully prepared to support your public relations plan to promote your company's reputation and products. We constantly realise that only through your co-operation and generous consideration can we walk together towards our respective glories.
