Concept of MOTOR EXPO 2012
Meet Tomorrow’s Cars Today

         • The 4 attributes of future cars that users look for are convenience, economy, safety and eco-friendliness.
Even performance enhancement is subject to the constraint that it cannot be accomplished at the expense of any of these attributes.
This may appear easy but in reality the makers have to deploy all their resources and knowhow to the utmost over a lengthy period of time in order to develop and come up with an automotive technology that satisfies such simple sounding demand.
Examples of interesting modern automotive technologies include communication network between drivers and their environs such as navigation system that functions in tandem with traffic information centre; system for finding parking spaces or points of interest; head-up-display of speed, fuel consumption, etc. on the windscreen so that drivers can read them without taking their eyes off the road.
Car movement control system that increases/reduces speed and changes direction through processing data from the driver’s brain and eyes as well as the traffic environment including traffic lights, other vehicles and obstacles.
Furthermore, both preventive and corrective safety systems now incorporate so many new technologies as typified below.
          - Low-speed collision prevention system that will automatically brake the car when it is apparent that the car is going to collide with an obstacle at a speed of not more than 30 km/h.
          - Speed control, automatic cueing and vehicle following distance warning system that will automatically adjust speed to match up with the car in front and also reduce speed when another car cuts in.
          - A centre airbag between the front seats to protect the driver and front passenger in a side-impact collision which is a major cause of death. As for propelling power, energy-efficient and pollution-free technologies like electricity and fuel cells have been well developed to a satisfactory level.
The point is that all makers cannot wait to incorporate these cutting-edge technologies into their vehicles made for users today as evidenced by the fact that new vehicles of all brands and models are furnished with convenience, economy, safety and eco-friendliness.
It is thus no exaggeration to say that vehicles that come onto the market from now on will be 'future’ innovations that are available today which not only meet users’ demand but also return wholesomeness to the planet that has been polluted by motor vehicles for so long.
And as a major vehicle production base of the world, Thailand is certain to catch sight of these hi-tech vehicles on its roads.
For this reason, we intend to hold “THE 29th THAILAND INTERNATIONAL MOTOR EXPO 2012” under the concept of “Meet Tomorrow’s Cars Today” in order to encourage manufacturers to display cars loaded with ultra modern technologies and innovations for the beholders to appreciate that…
In the world of cars, the future is no longer something one has to wait for.
