“The 42nd Thailand International Motor Expo,” the major event in the final quarter of 2025, saw electric vehicle bookings surge to over half, followed by hybrid cars, internal combustion engine cars, and plug-in hybrid cars. Motorcycles were also vibrant, with over 1.5 million visitors in total, and circulating more than 70 billion baht.

Khwanchai Paphatphong, President of “The 42nd Thailand International Motor Expo,” revealed that “The Motor Expo 2025 was held at the best time of the year, combined with the Phase 1 electric vehicle usage support measures (EV3.0) which will conclude this year, as well as the restructuring of new car excise taxes starting in 2026, resulted in the event's tremendous success and helped stimulate the sluggish automotive industry this year back to vibrancy, while generating over 70 billion baht in circulating funds for the Thai economy.”
For car bookings at the event, they were divided into 75,246 cars and 5,263 motorcycles. From the data of participants in the “Buy a Car…Win a Car” activity, it was found that electric vehicles accounted for as much as 50%, while internal combustion engine vehicles (combustion, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid) accounted for 50%. Additionally, the types of vehicles that received interest were categorized as: Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV) 58.4%, Sedans 27.8%, Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPV) 7.6%, Pickup trucks 4.5%, and others 1.7%.

The top 6 car models for which buyers participated in the “Buy a Car…Win a Car” activity were: Mitsubishi Xforce, Honda HR-V, Geely EX2, Jaecoo 5 EV, BYD Atto 3, and Toyota Yaris Cross.
The top 5 motorcycle models for which buyers participated in the “Buy a Motorcycle…Win a Big Bike” activity were: Lambretta, Yamaha, Deco, EM, and Zontes.
The average price of cars sold at the event was 1,122,347 baht. Motorcycles averaged 177,637 baht. The circulating money at the event was approximately 70 billion baht.
This year,
visitors could travel by the BTS Skytrain extension to Muang Thong Thani station, and there was also a Motor Expo Exclusive Visitor package offering VIP level convenience. This resulted in 1,521,296 visitors to the event, 45,298 downloads of the Motor Expo Application, and 2,028,044 online views.
