Another booming market in Thailand, especially in the luxury van segment. By the end of this year, there will be another player with a 7-seater electric MPV style vehicle, featuring the most futuristic and modern design from Xpeng (Xiaopeng) , ready to enter the Thai market.

The World's Most Advanced Van
Xpeng X9 has dimensions of 5,293 mm in length, 1,988 mm in width, 1,785 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. This is clearly larger than typical SUVs or sedans. Its distinctive design is crafted to balance practicality and "futuristic aesthetics." The Xpeng X9 emphasizes aerodynamic design, built on the SEPA 2.0 Platform, giving this van a drag coefficient of 0.227, making it the most aerodynamic in the market.

A single, sleek, futuristic LED headlight strip, flush door handles, combined with prominent lower air intakes, and a smooth body design from front to rear. The sporty, elongated LED taillights complement the hatchback-style sloped roof and 20-inch alloy wheels with 235/50R20 tires. Its strength comes from Die-casting body technology, utilizing aluminum materials in its design to provide robustness and withstand torque of up to 46,000 Nm/deg.

The highlight of this model is its luxurious 7-seater interior with a 2+2+3 configuration, featuring a 10.25-inch LCD digital instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch floating infotainment system powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P processor, supporting AI technology, and modern interior trim materials including wood and stylish silver metal.

Additionally, there are 2 wireless smartphone charging pads, 23 speakers throughout the cabin delivering a maximum output of 2,180 watts, and a large 21.4-inch high-quality ceiling-mounted screen, perfectly catering to families. Underneath the armrest, there is also a “refrigerator” with temperature settings between 0-50°C, along with an in-car air purification system throughout the cabin and a dual panoramic sunroof, enhancing overall spaciousness.

The front power-adjustable seats offer 12-way adjustment for the driver and 4-way for the passenger. The second-row seats are a highlight, featuring Zero Gravity Seats that recline to the most comfortable position. These offer 22-way power adjustment and an initial recline of 28 degrees. They support ventilation, 3-level heating, and include footrests, designed to contour to the body for enhanced comfort. The third-row seats can be folded flat to provide a cargo space of up to 2,554 liters, and when not folded, still offer 755 liters of space.

World-Class Technology All in One Vehicle
The Xpeng X9 offers 3 powertrain options, available with both 1- and 2-motor drive systems, in RWD and AWD configurations. The 610 Long Range model is front-wheel drive with an electric motor providing a maximum output of 320 hp (235 kW) and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, and its battery offers a driving range of 610 km per full charge (CLTC standard).

For those seeking extended range, there's the 702 Super-Long Range model, featuring the largest battery with a capacity of 101 kWh, which is equipped with the same size electric motor but with an increased battery size, extending the driving range to 702 km (CLTC standard).

And for the high-performance variant, the 640 4WD Performance, an additional rear-wheel-drive electric motor with a maximum output of 135 kW and a maximum torque of 190 Nm is added, bringing the total maximum output to 503 hp (370 kW) and maximum torque to 640 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and has a driving range of 640 km (CLTC standard). All 3 models achieve a top speed of 200 km/h. They also support an 800V SiC Platform battery architecture, enabling fast charging from 10-80% in just 20 minutes.

There are 3 driving modes to choose from: Comfort/Standard/Sport, which adjust steering weight and the responsiveness of the accelerator and brake in a single pedal. For the energy recovery function, there are Low/Medium/High/X-Pedal modes. Importantly, it also features an Active Rear-Axel steering system with a minimum turning radius of 5.4 m, and a standard Dual-chamber Air Suspension System that can adjust spring stiffness by up to 90 mm. This enhances driving comfort like a luxury vehicle.

For safety, the Xpeng X9 has achieved a 5-star C-NCAP rating. It features 6 airbags (front, side, curtain airbags) and is fully equipped with driving technologies, including 18 integrated ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Crucially, it includes the Xpeng Navigation Guided Pilot (XNGP) system, comprising surrounding sensors and 2 LiDAR units, as well as computing power up to 508 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second) from the high-speed Dual NVIDIA Drive Orin Supercomputing Platform, ensuring seamless operation.

Dark Horse Ready to Shake Up the MPV Market
Entering the highly competitive electric minivan market, competing with models like the Zeekr 009 (Zeeker 009) and Denza D9 (Densa D9), which will be launched soon, the Xpeng X9 is expected to be another highly anticipated vehicle. With its futuristic design, luxurious interior, and technology comparable to multi-million baht cars, it has created a sensation, stimulating demand among family car customers and achieving overwhelming sales in China.

As for our local market, by the end of this year, the Xpeng X9, an intelligent flagship van, is definitely preparing to enter the "41st Thailand International Motor Expo" or Motor Expo 2024. It is expected to have a price of no more than 2.8-3 million baht , making it another significant highlight to watch out for by year-end. With both the options it offers and its comfortable features at a reasonable price, it is sure to generate excitement.
