Sales
Domestic automobile sales in February 2026 totaled 48,242 units, a decrease of 34.75 percent from January 2026 and a decrease of 2.17 percent from February 2025. The decrease was due to a 18.56 percent drop in electric vehicle sales from the same month in 2025, as the EV 3.0 project ended, and a decline in sales of pickup trucks and internal combustion engine passenger cars due to stricter financial institution lending, low domestic economic growth, weak purchasing power, and foreign and Thai investment awaiting clarity on the new cabinet list and government policies. The ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran, whose duration is uncertain, raises concerns about exports of automobiles, motorcycles, and automotive parts due to rising energy prices, leading to global inflation, including in Thailand, which could further weaken already fragile purchasing power. Several experts predict Thailand's economy to grow by around 1.2%, which may also affect domestic automobile and motorcycle sales.
