The car market in February 2026 slowed down. Domestic car sales totaled 48,242 units, a decrease of 2.17% compared to the same period last year. The passenger car and SUV market had sales volume of 28,635 units, a decrease of 6.84% from February last year. Meanwhile, pickup trucks had sales volume of 12,998 units, a decrease of 1.41% from February last year. Electric pickup trucks (BEV) had sales volume of 94 units, an increase of 168.57% from February last year, and PPV vehicles had sales volume of 4,277 units, an increase of 43.76% from the same month last year.

Suphakon Rattanawaraha, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., stated that the car market in February 2026 had sales of 48,242 units, a decrease of 2.17% compared to the same period last year. This was a result of consumers delaying purchases to await clarity regarding the situation.

Passenger cars and SUVs (Passenger Car+SUV) sold 28,635 units, a decrease of 6.84% from last year.
- Pickup trucks sold 12,998 units, a decrease of 1.41% from last year.
- Electric pickup trucks (BEV) sold 94 units, an increase of 168.57% from last year.

For cumulative car sales in the first 2 months, sales reached 122,218 units, an increase of 25.49% compared to the same period.
- Passenger cars and SUVs (Passenger Car+SUV) sold 84,635 units, an increase of 38.11% from last year.
- Pickup trucks sold 24,502 units, a decrease of 3.69% from last year.
- Electric pickup trucks (BEV) sold 173 units, an increase of 343.69% from last year.
- PPV vehicles sold 8,409 units, an increase of 37.13% from last year.
For Toyota, cumulative sales in the first 2 months were 40,238 units, representing a market share of 32.92%, a growth of 11.44% compared to the same period last year, led by the Eco Segment (Yaris and Yaris Ativ) with 12,715 units, and Pure Pick up (Hilux Travo, Revo, and Champ) with 12,019 units.

It is anticipated that the trend in the car market for March will start to show signs of slowing down, in line with economic conditions affected by international situations, which impacts all car segments due to concerns over energy costs.
However, March also has positive factors from the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show, which is expected to contribute to stimulating the car market in March-April.
