Rainfall makes it difficult for both car owners and non-car owners alike, because nowadays, after just a short rain, flooding occurs, even on expressways. For drivers, let's look at what you need to prepare for "driving through rain". If any equipment is not ready for use and breaks down during heavy rain, it certainly won't be fun. What are the initial checks? Let's see

- Don't forget to check the lighting : All lights must be ready for use because signal lights are very important in the rainy season, especially when it rains heavily and visibility is poor. These lights not only serve as a point of observation for other cars to see us but also indicate the direction we intend to go. Therefore, we should check all lights, including parking lights, high-low beam headlights, turn signals, taillights, reverse lights, license plate lights, and fog lights (if available). - Car tires: They must be in good condition and ready for use. Don't forget to regularly check the tire pressure to ensure it's suitable for your usage. 

- Brake system : It must be checked regularly regardless of the season. If you experience the brake pedal vibrating or needing more distance to brake than usual, you should replace them immediately.

- Engine compartment : Open and check the water in the radiator, windshield washer fluid, battery, etc. If you don't have mechanical knowledge, you can take your car to a service center for inspection. 

- Umbrella or raincoat: You should also keep these in your car.

These are the initial checks we should perform. Another important thing I want to warn you about when driving in the rainy season is to beware of "hydroplaning"

- What is "hydroplaning" or Hydroplane ? It's when water comes between the tire's contact surface and the road because the tire grooves cannot drain water fast enough. This can happen if the grooves are too shallow, the water volume is too high, or you're driving too fast, causing the car to slide or run on the water's surface. Observant drivers will feel it through the steering wheel and must increase their caution.
