Aion V (Aion V) is a versatile electric vehicle built on the latest new-generation platform from the GAC Aion brand, named AEP 3.0 Pure Electric Digital Platform. It is defined as an "intelligent SUV that delivers maximum driving performance, a Hard-core Smart Driving SUV". It has become a vehicle with a prominent, fierce, yet futuristic design, suitable for all driving conditions.

Inspired by the T-Rex Dinosaur
The Aion V has body dimensions of 4,605 mm in length, 1,854 mm in width, 1,660 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. It is clearly larger in dimensions than its sibling, the Aion Y Plus (Aion Y Plus). The design concept integrates art from the apex predator, the T-Rex dinosaur (T-Rex).

Large and versatile, for adventurers
The Aion V features a closed grille. It has LED H-Shape headlights in a Dragon Claw style, along with DRLs and long LED taillights. The design language also draws inspiration from dragon claws. A special feature is the roof rack installed on the roof, adding versatility. It is adorned with black wheel arch trims and comes with 19-inch polished alloy wheels, size 225/45 R19. The exterior color options include 5 colors: Dark Blue Galaxy Blue, Brown Wilderness Sand, Grey Sea Fluorescent Grey, Orange Sunset Orange, and White White.


The main highlight is the contemporary luxury interior decoration. It comes with a new interior style, available in 3 colors: Beige Beige, Black Jet Black, and Orange Orange. The vehicle emphasizes extremely spacious interior usable space, catering to family lifestyles. It features a 6-way adjustable front driver's seat and a 4-way adjustable passenger seat. There are 5 massage modes with 8 massage points, 3 intensity levels, and a ventilated and heated seating system. A key highlight is that the front seats can be folded down with a single press of a button, the Front-row One-touch Recline Function, easily transforming into a large bed of over 1.8 meters. The luggage compartment has a maximum capacity of 427 liters; when the rear seats are folded down, the space can be expanded to up to 987 liters. Additionally, there are 30 storage compartments throughout the cabin.








Another highlight of the convenience features is a center console Built-in refrigerator with a 6.6-liter capacity, supporting 3 modes: freezing, cooling, and heating. It can reach a minimum temperature of -15°C and a heating temperature of 50°C, while consuming only 0.5 kilowatt-hours of electricity. Additionally, there's a rear multi-purpose Folding Tray Table, perfect for travelers to place small items or even work on a laptop.

A large 14.6-inch touchscreen display is installed with the ADiGO SENSE AI system, which can interact with users via voice commands. It supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HiCar, and CarLife. Wireless Charging for phones and 64-color Ambient Light throughout the cabin. It also comes with a super large Panoramic Sunroof, which helps make the space feel more open and comfortable. Furthermore, a 9-speaker audio system with a DTS 5.1 Surround Three-Way system allows for separate adjustment of high, mid, and low frequencies from the screen, along with an 8-inch subwoofer that can deliver low frequencies down to 45 Hz.

The Aion V safety system comes with 5 U-shaped airbags, enhancing safety for all occupants, and the latest advanced driver-assistance system, ADiGO Pilot 5.0, along with 12 5mm Solid-State Lidars radar units and 11 high-resolution ADAS cameras, working together for both autonomous driving (Autonomous Driving L2) and navigated driving assistance (NDA), etc. It is equipped with an NVIDIA Orin-X processing chip for efficient vehicle system management.

The Aion V's powertrain features a single motor, with two electric motor options. These are a standard power motor producing 204 hp (PS), 150 kW, and 240 Nm of torque, and a high-power motor producing 224 hp (PS), 165 kW, and 240 Nm of torque. Both come with 3C technology, a 400-volt charging architecture, utilizing silicon carbide material for the first time in an electric vehicle. It is equipped with specifically redesigned Lithium iron phosphate battery in Magazine Battery 2.0 format, with various capacities ranging from 62, 74, and 90 kWh. These provide driving ranges of 520, 650, and 750 km (according to CLTC standard). It can charge from 0-60% in 15 minutes, allowing it to travel up to 370 km. It supports V2L up to 3.3 kW. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is 7.9 seconds, which is remarkable for both acceleration and range achieved.

New player to be launched in Thailand by year-end
The Aion V will be positioned as a C-SUV, facing versatile electric competitors such as Kia EV5 (Kia EV 5), Geely EX5 (Geely EX 5) and Deepal S07 (Deepal S 07). It will emphasize its versatility, with an exterior design style that appeals to older generations, but might not be favored by some younger buyers. This makes it another option for vehicles primarily focused on family use. If you are looking for a large car with a super spacious interior and complete features, this model is quite impressive.

It is now clear that the large 'dinosaur' Aion V is entering the assembly line for right-hand drive models, ready for sale by the end of this year, and is definitely set to appear at the "41st Motor Expo" or Motor Expo 2024. It is expected to come with a price tag competitive with its rivals, ranging between 900,000 to 1.1 million Baht. As for whether the specifications and various auxiliary equipment will be fully featured like in the Chinese market, we will have to wait and see.
