 "Blind spot" or "blind area" is an area that side mirrors cannot capture, located between the driver's resting line, making it difficult for the driver to clearly see the area next to the car. This can lead to side-swiping and rear-end collisions when the car changes lanes... because drivers often neglect to adjust their side mirrors to clearly see vehicles on the side or behind when changing lanes, turning, or overtaking.

Nowadays, new car models will have a "blind spot monitoring system function" when changing lanes to increase driving safety. This system effectively solves the problem of accidents caused by side-swiping parallel vehicles, by using sensors or radar to detect objects in the blind spot area. If an object enters that area, there will be a warning symbol on the side mirror or an audible signal to alert the driver. Each car brand defines it differently, but the meaning is the same, as shown in the examples. Important! These are just examples for some car models.

 And Mazda CX-5 calls it Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring (ABSM) when changing lanes, etc.

However... if our car does not have such a function, drivers should adjust theirside mirrors>> and be much more cautious about "blind spots". For safety, we recommend the correct way to adjust car mirrors. 

The mirrors should be adjusted to extend perpendicular and parallel to the car body, not too low or too high. This will help drivers see vehicles on the side and behind more clearly.
