Supphakorn Rattanawaraha, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., stated that sales of electrified vehicles (xEV) between January and September 2024 totaled 156,191 units, representing 36% of the total car market, an increase of 27% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, HEV vehicles remain popular, with cumulative sales of 92,589 units, growing by 52% and accounting for 59% of the xEV market. BEV vehicles recorded sales of 56,496 units, an increase of 8%, representing 36% of the xEV market. These figures indicate the continuous increase in popularity and acceptance of HEVs among Thai customers.
This year, Toyota maintains its sales leadership in the xEV market with the highest HEV sales in Thailand, holding a market share of over 27%. Crucially, Toyota also achieved the number one sales position in the hybrid SUV segment, with cumulative sales of over 38,700 units from January to September 2024, commanding an xEV market share of over 24%. This success is driven by two models in the xEV segment: Corolla Cross sales of 11,137 units and Yaris Cross sales of 27,623 units.
