Accidents resulting from overtaking (not clearing) or being overtaken are major causes that should not be overlooked. On 2-lane roads with oncoming traffic, the main causes may stem primarily from drivers lacking skills and/or driver etiquette. Subsequently, they may arise from environmental conditions, road conditions, or various unforeseen circumstances that drivers must learn about!

If drivers have a reasonable amount of long-distance driving experience, they will know a simple operating principle: for safe overtaking and being overtaken, when we see a vehicle behind us signal to overtake, we must show courtesy by reducing our vehicle's speed, while simultaneously responding with a signal by turning on the left turn signal, moving as far left in the lane as possible, to create space for the overtaking vehicle to pass comfortably. As for the vehicle intending to overtake, when it is safe, it should quickly activate the right turn signal and accelerate to pass as quickly as possible.
If all drivers adhere to these simple principles, it is guaranteed that accidents and traffic congestion problems will certainly decrease. Therefore, let driving etiquette start with ourselves. If we know we are driving slowly, drive only in the left or middle lane. The right lane is for faster vehicles or those in more of a hurry than us.

From now on when driving, please frequently check your rearview and side mirrors. Do not play the radio loudly, so you can hear and see fellow drivers signaling or honking to request passage. We can then quickly yield to faster vehicles, allowing them to overtake safely.

It can be seen that overtaking and passing is also considered law* under the Land Traffic Act, Chapter 3, Section 2: Overtaking and Passing.
Overtaking and Passing
Section 44(5) A driver intending to overtake another vehicle on a road that is not divided into lanes must signal by flashing the headlights multiple times or by using the right turn signal or by giving an audible signal loud enough to allow the driver of the vehicle in front to respond with a signal according to Section 37 (3) or Section 38 (3). And when it is seen that no other vehicle that is currently overtaking will be obstructed, then overtaking can proceed.

The principle of safe overtaking and being overtaken is simply this: "The vehicle being overtaken must yield to allow the overtaking vehicle to pass comfortably, while the vehicle intending to overtake must complete the overtake in the shortest possible time." That's all.
