During the rainy season, both passengers and drivers may have damp clothes from walking through the rain and immediately getting into the car. This causes the interior or car seats to become damp from our clothes, leading to musty odors, especially in cars with fabric seats. After the rainy season ends, find some free time to make the musty odor in your car disappear in an instant... with these simple methods.
1. Park the car in an open area, open all 4 doors and windows.
2. Remove items from the car for easy cleaning.
3. Turn the ignition key to the ON position or start the engine.
4. Press the A/C off button to prevent the air compressor from working.
5. Turn the air conditioner to maximum fan speed for 2 minutes to dissipate moisture and odors.
6. Use a vacuum cleaner to vacuum dust from the seats.
7. Use a damp cloth, wrung out, to wipe away all dirt stains from the seats.
8. Use a damp cloth to clean the footrests, then dry them in the sun.
9. Place charcoal (for cooking) in a mesh bag and tie it securely, then place it under the car seat to keep it out of the way.
10. Close the car doors and windows properly. Done.

Note:
Air fresheners / Borneol should not be kept in the car. While air fresheners can eliminate odors, they also have drawbacks. This is because the vapor from the substances in air fresheners will circulate in the air conditioning system, accumulating and forming "slime" on the air filter and evaporator coil. This slime will contain moisture, which makes it easy for dust to accumulate thickly, causing blockages in the cooling system, forcing the engine to work harder, and wasting fuel.
If strong-scented air fresheners are inhaled for a long period, it can be harmful to health, causing headaches, inflamed nasal passages, or eye and skin irritation. Furthermore, Borneol is also a culprit because if it's exposed to sunlight or kept at high temperatures, it will evaporate and dissolve, causing eye irritation. Inhaling large amounts continuously for a long time can lead to dizziness, nasal irritation, and it is also a type of carcinogen.
